Larry Swansen (Marvin Zigglebaum), actor and playwright, has two feature films awaiting release, DUELING ACCOUNTANTS and URCHIN. He has also been in five Broadway shows including two years with Yul Brynner in THE KING AND I. A tour with Helen Hayes in Maugham's THE CIRCLE and tours in THE SOUND OF MUSIC and THE ELEPHANT MAN have taken him to most of the lower forty-eight. Favorite roles in the regionals include George in WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOLF and as Scrooge in A CHRISTMAS CAROL. Recently Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey has seen him in AS YOU LIKE IT, THE CRUCIBLE and THE COUNTRY WIFE.

Jack Mertz (Walter) was born in Syracuse, NY in 1925. A graduate of Syracuse University with a Masters degree in English, he taught English and speech at Syracuse and Ducane Universities before a successful career with editorial and public relations work in the food field. Although conducting an electronic puppet show in Pittsburg during the 1950s, Jack didn't pursue a career in performance until the age of sixty, at the end of his previous careers. He was a member of Love Creek Productions Theatre Group off Broadway and has been in a number of independent films over the years. His pivotal role was in the short film LIFE DRAWING, which earned him a Best Actor award in the New York International Film and Video Festival and a nomination at the Moroccan Film Festival. LUCKY SEVENS was Jack's final performance before he called it quits at the age of 80.

Zac Nicholson (Director/Producer/Editor) is a New Yorker, born and raised on Upper West Side of Manhattan. His professional career in the arts started when he was eight and a member of the Children's Chorus at the Metropolitan Opera, the World's premiere Opera House. While interested in everything from conducting, to writing, to photography and the fine arts, it was during his five years at the Met that Zac first realized he wanted to direct. Although initially set on directing Opera after working onstage with the likes of Franco Zeffirelli and Tim Albery, his interest quickly shifted to cinema after helping a friend out with a short and realizing his desire to tell stories visually could be explored to a much greater extent on film. After finishing up high school at Collegiate School, Zac spent four years in NYU's film program where he had a focus in directing, cinematography, editing and producing. Lucky Sevens is his thesis project from NYU and to him it was the greatest education he has ever had. Currently, he is in development on two of his own feature scripts, a narrative and a documentary, and is in collaboration on a third feature script with three of his fellow NYU alums. Poe St. Films is his production company.

Jeromy Barber (Producer) Currently residing in the Deep East Texas town of Pollok, Jeromy has produced films of all shapes and sizes in NYC for about 5 years now. Currently, he is exploring the creative boundaries of the local used car commercial. He is also the producer of the television show Elevation which runs on UPN, and he is finalizing the cut of his documentary Joggling ( Jeromy is also in the studio with Dave Morrison making music that can only be coined as "strange-ass folk music." He loves his mom and lives with his hilariously senile Great Grandmother Carmen.

Sam Sibble (Producer) is currently an undergraduate NYU student studying film and business. As a producer, co-producer, and consulting producer, he has worked on over a dozen short films as a as well as being chosen as the supervising producer for the second episode of the hour long HD TV, "University Place." Last year, he was part of a small crew that shot the opening sequence to the film, "Rent" directed by Chris Columbus.

Matthew Kliegman (Editor) Born in Cleveland, OH, Matt and the family moved to Mequon, WI, when he was nine years old. It was there that he began to develop the iconoclastic worldview still evinced in his work. Upon finishing high school, Matthew moved to New York to attend New York University's Tisch School of the Arts' prestigious film school. Matthew has distinguished himself as one of the Tisch School's more hard-working undergraduates, working on Michel Gondry's music video for the White Stripes' "The Denial Twist," and as a freelance editor - most remarkably as the chief editor of acclaimed Professor Karl Bardosh's feature film "Out of Balance." Influences as divergent as Sergei Eisenstein and Todd Solondz inform, but never overwhelm, Matthew's independent portfolio.

Nick Haines-Stiles (Director of Photography) was born in California but grew up in New Jersey, just 30 minutes from New York, where he cultivated his interest in movies, science and politics. Nick dropped out of NYU and began working as a grip and electric, but never lost his desire to continue shooting narrative work. He is the recipient of the 2005 Cinematography Award from NYU's First Run Festival.

Will Pitts (Composer) is a native New Yorker with a unique compositional voice. His "wonderful weird palette 'evokes' with uncanny precision (" He has worked in Film, TV, and Theatre for the past eight years and has freelanced for Carter Burwell, Hans Zimmer, and tomandandy. His most recent credits include: MVP, 2004 Sundance Festival; The Cutman, Best Short in the Atlanta 2003 Festival; Original Music for Umney's Last Case by Steven King; and Rape Contada based off of three poems by male survivors of sexual abuse. Will and his wife Cate are expecting a son on April 20th.

Antares (The Players) Antares has "the gift of making whatever it's playing seem the most important piece in the world," declared The Gramophone in its rave review of the group's 2005 debut CD Eclipse on the Innova label, adding that the "ensemble has two things going for it: its instrumentation and a fearlessly irrepressible energy." Comprised of four virtuoso instrumentalists, Antares draws from a vast and colorful repertoire for violin, cello, piano and clarinet, as well as its various trio and duo permutations. This versatility allows Antares to create programs which span the traditional eras of classical music from the 18th century through the music of today. Hailed by The Chicago Tribune as "powerful�striking...razor-sharp," Antares' high energy performance style and unique ensemble dynamic led to the quartet's selection as first prize winner of the 2002 Concert Artists Guild International Competition.

With two ASCAP/CMA Awards for Adventuresome Programming to its credit (2004 & 1999), a recent New York Times review accurately described Antares' approach to the music it performs: "The four musicians play with superb technical polish and, equally important, a sense that they not only are comfortable with this music but also understand its vocabulary and syntax." This sentiment was seconded in August 2005 when Antares' appearance on New York's River to River Festival was featured in Time Out New York as follows: "birthed by an intersection of adversity and necessity, the instrumentation of Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time - clarinet, violin, cello and piano - has provided a valuable model for a small ensemble that affords color, flexibility and heft in one tiny package."

Featured engagements for the ensemble include a January 2006 concert on the CAG/New Works at The Thalia Series at Symphony Space in New York, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Kennedy Center, Merkin Concert Hall, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and Brooklyn Friends of Chamber Music in New York City, the Krannert Center at the University of Illinois, the Raleigh Chamber Music Guild (NC) and Panama's Asociacion Nacional de Conciertos. Residencies include those at the Aspen School of Music, Eastman School of Music, Columbia University, Wesleyan University, Hancher Auditorium at the University of Iowa, where Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time was the centerpiece, Market Square Concerts (PA) and the La Jolla Music Society's Discovery Series, where the quartet's performance was described by The San Diego Reader as "exciting, expressive, nuanced and captivating." In August 2005, the ensemble's distinctive sound was featured for the third time on a nationwide broadcast of Minnesota Public Radio's ever-popular series Saint Paul Sunday.

Antares' numerous festival appearances include a three-part series at New Haven's International Festival of Arts and Ideas, the Chautauqua Institution, the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival and the Norfolk Contemporary Music Seminar and Chamber Music Festival in the U.S. Antares was twice Ensemble-in-Residence at the Festival Eleazar de Carvalho in Fortaleza, Brasil and has performed at the Tuckamore Festival in St. John's, Newfoundland.

Antares has commissioned and/or premiered a substantial number of works by highly regarded composers including Ezra Laderman, Stefan Freund, Kevin Puts, members of the Minimum Security Composers Collective, John Mackey (with the Parsons Dance Company at The Joyce in New York), Oliver Schneller (through a Meet the Composer grant), Dan Visconti (through a grant from BMI) and Carter Pann, whose work Antares was commissioned by CAG. In addition to its 2005 release Eclipse, Antares has recorded Ned Rorem's The End of Summer on the Newport Classics label, Fred Lerdahl's Marches for Bridge Records, as well as works by Ezra Laderman and David Schiff.
